Entourage viewers are used to seeing Lloyd (Rex Lee) take a beating from Ari (Jeremy Piven), and they even take pleasure in the remarks, mostly involving Zac Efron’s balls, Michelle Kwan in drag, or something along that line. TMZ is reporting that, unfortunately, the verbal tirades seem to also happen off-screen.
Lee, 40, admits that there are “occasionally” jokes thrown around set in reference to his sexuality and ethnicity on Entourage. “I try not to let it bother me,” he said, adding that the remarks come mostly from members of the crew. Asked why he doesn’t have these people fired, he just said, “that’s not the way I work.”
Entourage creator Doug Ellin for his part said he was “shock and horrified” of the news, and that he intends to do something about the matter. “[I] will be speaking to everybody before we start filming again in March. It’s not something condoned or acceptable.”
Entourage is set to return in the summer of 2010 for its seventh season, by which time Lloyd is already an agent, meaning, he will no longer be Ari’s assistant.
